How can I report on my sales?

Head to 'Orders' then 'Sales Reports' to get a real-time snapshot or drill down of your revenue

Written by Rhio

Whilst your ticket sales are going through the roof, alongside celebrating, you might want to check how much revenue you've been making.

  • Using Revenue reports, you can get a handy breakdown of your revenue, and add filters to drill down to the data you need.

  • Using Transactions reports, you'll see a breakdown of your sales, refunds and net amounts by payment method - so you can quickly tell where your ticket money was sent.

How to view your revenue report

Your Revenue report shows your overall revenue with event-level detail and adjustments for vouchers and transfers.

  • Head to Orders in the top navigation bar.

  • Click Sales reports in the left-hand menu.

  • You'll land on an up-to-date snapshot of your current revenue breakdown.

    • You can use the filters to drill down further into your sales data, e.g. to see the revenue made from one specific event.

    • Your revenue calculation in this report is the total amount of money you have taken for ticket and product sales, WhatsApp/SMS reminder fees, and donations, minus any refunds, based on your filters.

💡 Your revenue report shows you your gross revenue. To understand your net revenue, deduct your Ticket Tailor fees, plus your Stripe/PayPal/Square fees, plus any other costs from this number.

How to view your transaction report

Your Transactions report focuses on your payment method breakdown, helping you see when and where your payments were sent to your Stripe, Square or PayPal accounts.

  • Head to Orders in the top navigation bar.

  • Click Sales reports in the left-hand menu.

  • Select the Transactions tab.

  • You'll see a breakdown of your sales, refunds and net amounts by payment method.

    • Use the Add filter dropdown to filter by currency, created on or after date, or created before date.

    • The report shows total sales, refunds and net amounts for each payment method you've used (such as Stripe, offline payments, or other payment processors).

      • Orders which are marked as refund issued outside of Ticket Tailor would be recorded against the Operator payment method. For example, if your customer bought a £30 ticket from you which was processed via Stripe, and you cancelled them and refunded them in cash, the Operator line in your report would show £0 paid and -£30 refunded.

    • The amounts in this report are before your payment processing fees or Ticket Tailor fees. (To find your profit, minus any costs/fees from your 'gross' revenue).

💡 Things to note

  • The sales report does not include any fees (Ticket Tailor fees or Payment processing fees).

    • Find your Ticket Tailor fees under chargeable usage on your billing page, and your payment processing fees in Stripe, Square or Paypal.

  • The refund total in this report only includes refunds that have been issued via your payment processor, not refunds credited as a voucher.

  • When your customers pay for their orders with a gift voucher or a voucher code, the amount (whether in full or partial) is deducted from the report to accurately reflect the revenue. You can find this under Gift voucher and voucher code deductions in the revenue breakdown.

  • When you transfer orders between events, the transferred order amounts and any associated taxes are deducted from the report to accurately reflect the revenue. You can find this under Adjustment for transferred orders in the revenue breakdown.

  • The revenue report is calculated for each currency. If you're running events using different currencies, please ensure that you select the correct currency to visualise the associated revenue.

  • To share your revenue report with someone, you can invite them to your account via team access, making sure their permissions are set to Order manager with the ability to View sales reports.

  • Revenue figures are rounded up to the nearest penny.

    • Ticket Tailor rounds tax calculations up to the nearest penny on a per-line-item basis. This means the totals in your reports may differ from figures you calculate manually by a penny or two, if you've used a different rounding calculation.
