Depending on the popularity of your event, you may want to change the amount of time a ticket can be held in your customer's cart while they fill out the checkout form and pay.
You can change your settings to 'Relaxed' if you want your customers to be able to reserve tickets for a long time whilst adding checkout form details to their booking, or set an 'Aggressive' speed for busy on-sales and high profile events.
How to edit basket timeout speeds
To change the length of time that tickets can be held in baskets, head to 'Box office settings'>'Basic settings'.
Scroll down to 'Basket timeout speed'.
Select your timing from the dropdown:
Slow - Tickets held in baskets between 30 to 120 minutes (not recommended for fast selling events).
Relaxed - Tickets held in baskets between 15 to 60 minutes (not recommended for fast selling events).
Fast - Tickets held between 7 to 30 minutes.
Faster - Tickets held between 5 to 15 minutes.
Aggressive - Tickets held between 5 to 8 minutes (not recommended if you collect a lot of data).
Our default basket timeout holds tickets between 7 to 30 minutes.
When a box office has the 'Aggressive' setting enabled, the total maximum time to hold on to the items in your cart is 8 minutes, but this is divided across each stage or step of the checkout process:
'View Event' step: If a customer doesn't proceed to the next step within 2 minutes of selecting tickets, their cart will expire.
'Order details' step: If a customer has filled in their details but hasn't proceeded to the payment page within 4 minutes, the cart will expire.
'Review' or 'Payment' step: At this stage, if a customer hasn't completed payment within 8 minutes, their cart will expire.
