How to prevent spam ticket bookings with a CAPTCHA

Add a CAPTCHA challenge to your event to stop bots from booking tickets.

Written by Rhio

If you're organising a free event (or using offline payments) and would like to discourage bots from making bookings, you can add a CAPTCHA challenge to your event checkout.

The CAPTCHA adds a verification step that ensures you have a human customer selecting tickets.

How to enable CAPTCHA on your event

  • From your Ticket Tailor dashboard, navigate to your box office Settings.

  • Under Basic settings, select the checkbox marked Always show a CAPTCHA challenge when payment details aren't required.

  • Click the Save button at the bottom of the page.

💡 Things to note

  • Even if this checkbox isn't selected, the CAPTCHA may sometimes show automatically to customers booking tickets to free events, as an added Ticket Tailor security measure.
