Things can change, and we've made it easy to postpone your event and inform your ticket buyers.
How to postpone an event and continue selling tickets
Inform your ticket buyers
First and foremost, it's important that you inform your ticket buyers that your event details have changed by sending them an email broadcast.
Update your event
Head to Events, select the event you need to postpone, then click Edit event and tickets.
Edit your event date and time.
Don't forget to click Save event!
If you're postponing a recurring event, edit your occurrences by clicking on Occurrences in the left-hand menu instead.
Scroll or use the filters to find the relevant date, click the three-dot 'more options' button and select Edit.
Edit your event date and time, then click Save.
How to postpone an event and stop selling tickets
Inform your ticket buyers that your event details have changed by sending them an email broadcast.
Follow the steps to cancel your event.
When you have a new date for your event, you can either:
Publish your old event if you'd like to honour old ticket purchases.
Create a new event with a new date to share with your ticket buyers.
If you do this, all attendees will need to purchase a new ticket.
💡 Things to note
All of the tickets you sold for your previous event date will still be valid for the new date.
You might want to let your buyers choose if they want to stick with the new date, get a refund, or transfer their order to another event. You can easily offer these options by setting up self-serve order management and sending a link to self-serve in your email broadcast.
If an order has multiple tickets, and only some ticket holders want to attend the new date, you can follow the instructions on how to issue refunds for individual tickets to issue line item refunds. Read more in this help article: How to refund one ticket in an order.
