You need to have at least one ticket type available to publish an event page.
However, you can create a ticket type with a 'hidden' status, and a waitlist.
To do this:
Go to your event summary page.
Then choose Edit event and tickets.
Then select Add a new ticket type.
In the ticket's Advanced settings, make sure you set the ticket Status to "Hidden".
Next, activate your waitlist at the bottom of the page under Advanced settings . Tick the box called "Activate waitlist", and make sure you don't tick the box called "Show only when no tickets are available", as you want it to show immediately (when your tickets are available but hidden).
Save, and publish!
Now, your ticket buyers won't see any tickets, but they will be able to sign up to the active waitlist, ready for that all important ticket on-sale announcement!
