Why do I need to verify my Stripe account?

Understand what to provide to Stripe to make sure payments run smoothly

Written by Rhio

Stripe may ask you for account verification when you use them for payouts.

Stripe will email you and show you a message in your Stripe account if they need more information.

Stripe verifies your business to meet global compliance requirements to make sure payments stay safe, secure and accessible for everyone.

Usually they need ID verification, legal entity verification for company name, address and registration number, and relationship verification of ultimate beneficial owner(s) and/or director(s).

If you don’t provide this information to Stripe, your account may be restricted, and occasionally your payments might be paused.
