How to set up tiered ticket pricing

Use tiered pricing to help promote early ticket sales.

Written by Rhio

You may want to use tiered ticket pricing to drive early sales for your event, sometimes known as 'early bird pricing'. You can use tiered pricing within Ticket Tailor to automatically set another higher priced ticket to come on sale when a ticket type is about to sell out.

How to set up tiered ticket pricing

  • First, create your event.

  • Add a ticket type for each pricing tier. For example, 'Presale Tickets', 'General Admission', and 'Final Release' tickets.

  • For the tickets that you'd like to come on sale later, click 'Show advanced settings'.

  • Tick the checkbox for 'Hide until another ticket type is running low'.

    • Select the ticket you want to replace it with, and set a buffer quantity. We recommend around 10.

    • Click 'Update ticket type' to save your changes.

  • Repeat this process for as many ticket tiers you have.

💡 Things to note

  • If you want your earlier tiers to disappear once you've moved onto the higher priced tickets, set it to 'Hide when sold out'
