If you’d like to make sure certain tickets are bought together, you can easily set this up using ticket dependencies.
Ticket dependencies let you control how tickets can be selected at checkout – for example, requiring a free carer ticket to be booked alongside a paid ticket.
What are companion tickets?
Companion tickets are tickets that must be purchased alongside another ticket.
Common examples include:
A free carer ticket that must be booked with a paid attendee ticket
A child ticket that must be accompanied by an adult ticket
An add-on (like a meal or workshop) that requires a general admission ticket
How to set up companion tickets
You can set this up using ticket dependencies in just a few steps:
Head to your event and click ‘Edit event and tickets’
Open your companion, or carer ticket, and expand the 'Advanced settings'.
Select the checkbox called 'Only available with other ticket types or bundles'.
Then, select the accessible ticket that must be purchased alongside this one.
Add an error message your customer will see in the box called 'Invalid selection error message'. For example: "Companion tickets are only available when bought with accessible tickets".
Save your changes
That’s it! Your companion ticket will now only be available when the conditions you’ve set are met.
