How can I share a draft event?
Sometimes it's helpful to get a second opinion on your event listing, or you may want a fresh set of eyes to check for any mistakes. This help article will show you how to share a draft of your event with someone to review before it's published live to your audience.
How to share your draft event
Create your event by clicking on the 'Add new event' button on either your Overview dashboard or on the Events tab.
Fill out all of the details about your event, and add your ticket types.
Hit 'Save event'.
Your event will now be saved in a draft state and you'll see the option to 'Share draft link' at the top of the page.
Click the 'Share draft link' button to generate a link that you can share with anyone to allow them to view your event.
When they open the link, they'll see the event name followed by "[DRAFT]" so they're clear it's a preview.
How to place a test order on a draft event
The person you shared your event with will be able to complete a full ticket sales, as if your event is live. If they complete payment on a draft event, they will be charged. To avoid paying for tickets when testing you can either:
Edit your tickets to make them free for testing
Create a 100% off discount code and enter that at your checkout
Any tickets sent which are bought on a draft event will be clearly marked as a 'test order'.
Tickets for draft events can be scanned with the check-in app, if you need to test with your door team.
If you place a test order on a draft event, you won't be charged ticket fees.
💡 Things to note
Don't forget that you can also edit the look and feel of your box office before you share your link by going to 'Box office settings' > 'Event page design'.
