After setting up your event, you may want to test your ticket buyers' experience from end-to-end before promoting the event. You can use a free ticket type to test out the event checkout process without having to make a purchase or transfer funds.
How to test an event checkout
Once you've created your event and added all of your desired ticket types, add a final free ticket type, which you will use to test your event. You can do this under 'Edit event and tickets' from the 'Event summary' page.
You can keep the quantity of these tickets low if you only will want to test it once or twice.
You can also change the status to 'Only visible to admin' to make sure it's not visible to buyers.
Once the event has been published, open the event and add the free ticket to your basket, and go through the steps to complete your order - just like your buyer will!
If you're happy with your event, great. You're ready to share it with the world!
How to hide your test ticket from your ticket buyers
After your test order has been completed, return to the 'Event summary' and open 'Edit event and tickets', to hide the test ticket you made.
Scroll down to your list of ticket types, and click 'Edit ticket type' for the free ticket you've created.
Under 'Advanced settings', change the 'Status' to 'Hidden', to ensure the free ticket type no longer shows on your public event page.
When you're done, click 'Update ticket type' to save your changes.
