How to set up Apple Pay and Google Pay for ticket sales

If you use Stripe or Square, you can accept Apple Pay and Google Pay in your Box office.

Apple Pay allows your ticket buyers with Apple Pay-enabled devices to check out in an instant, using their fingerprint or Face ID instead of entering their card details.

💡 Apple Pay for Square is only available for box offices with a custom domain.

How to set up Apple Pay and Google Pay with Stripe

  • From your Ticket Tailor dashboard, head to your Box office Settings and navigate to Payment systems.

  • Click the three-dot menu next your Stripe account, and click Settings. A popup should appear.

  • Tick the checkbox called: Apple Pay and Google Pay for convenient checkout checkbox (which is underneath the Enable payment methods header), and click Save.

  • That's it! Apple Pay and Google Pay is now available for your ticket buyers.


Extra steps if you're using a custom domain and Apple Pay with Stripe

If you're using a custom domain, there are some extra steps for Apple Pay to make sure it works for Safari browsers.

  • Log in to your Stripe dashboard.

  • Select the cog icon top right corner.

  • Select Payments, then the Payment methods tab.

  • Click on the relevant account.

  • Find Apple Pay in the list and click on it.

  • Click on Configure domains.

  • Click on Add a new domain.

  • Enter your custom domain and click Save.

Extra steps if you're using the widget with a custom domain

  • If you're using the widget as well as a custom domain, follow the steps above.

  • Then, in Stripe, click on Add a new domain.

  • Add the domain you're loading the widget from.

  • You'll be prompted to verify the domain, which involves downloading a file from Stripe and uploading a file to the same domain on your website.


How to set up Apple Pay and Google Pay with Square

  • Make sure you have a Square account connected to Ticket Tailor.

  • Make sure you have a custom domain set up on your account.

  • Email hi@tickettailor.com to request the option for Apple and Google Pay with Square.

  • Once customer support have confirmed these settings are enabled in your account then head to your Box office Settings and navigate to Payment systems.

  • Click the three-dot menu next your Square account, and click Settings. A popup should appear.

  • Tick the Apple Pay for convenient checkout and Google Pay for convenient checkout checkboxes, and click Save.

💡 Things to note

  • Apple Pay is only visible in Apple browsers (Safari) and on iPhones. It won't appear for buyers using another browser, like Google Chrome.

  • If you use PayPal as your payment processor, Apple Pay and Google Pay aren't supported.
