Top tips for using a widget and a custom domain

Troubleshooting and best practices for making sure your custom domain is live on your widget checkout.

Written by Rhio

If you're using an embeddable widget in your website, you need to connect your custom domain to your box office in order for your widget to live on your custom domain. This is important for analytics tracking, and so that your checkout is unaffected by browser cookies.

How to set up your widget and custom domain

  • Connect your custom domain to your box office.

  • Copy your widget code.

  • Paste your widget code into your website.

    • If you added your widget to your website before using a custom domain with Ticket Tailor, you'll need to replace your widget with the new code.

Checking your DNS records

Once you've connected your custom domain, you can view your DNS records in your box office Settings. Your dashboard will show the CNAME record details, including your custom domain name and the value it points to.

This helps you confirm that your domain is correctly configured and ready to use with your widget.

💡 Things to note

  • If you're using a widget and want to track analytics, e.g. GA, Meta pixel, or TikTok pixel, this should work as long as you've followed the steps above.
