Understanding the one-year eligibility limit for Refund Protect

Refund Protect is only available for events that end within one year in the future.

Written by Siobhan

If your event finishes more than a year in the future, your ticket buyers won't be able to add Refund Protect to their purchase.

Why this limit exists

Our Refund Protect provider doesn't offer coverage for events ending more than 12 months away. This helps keep the service reliable and ensures claims can be processed smoothly.

What this means for you

If you're selling tickets to an event that ends more than a year from now, Refund Protect simply won't appear as an option at checkout. Your ticket buyers will still be able to complete their purchase normally - they just won't see the option to add refund protection.

Once your event moves to within a year of its end date, Refund Protect will automatically become available if you've enabled it in your settings.

💡 Things to note

  • The one-year limit is based on your event's end date, not its start date. This means multi-day events are covered right up until the final day.

  • You don't need to change any settings. This happens automatically based on when your event finishes.

  • If you've already sold tickets with Refund Protect before your event moved beyond the one-year window, those existing protections remain valid.
