How to add seasonal pricing and/or capacity to your recurring event with Overrides

Once you've created your recurring event, you can adjust seasonal pricing or capacity with Overrides.

Summer holidays, weekends and staff availability might all affect how you want to sell tickets for your event or attraction.

It’s easy to set up your repeating event, and then add pricing or capacity rules.

How to create a recurring event with price or capacity overrides

  • Create a recurring event with all of your ticket types, and enter your standard prices and capacities.

    • For example, if I was a petting farm with weekday prices of £10 for adults and £7 for children, I'd set these prices when creating my event.

  • After creating your event, open the 'Occurrences' page and then the 'Overrides' tab.

  • Click 'Add override', and enter the new pricing and/or quantity rules for your seasonal pricing.

    • For example, I want weekend pricing to be £12 for Adult tickets, and £9 for Child tickets.

    • I might also want to have a 'Reduced Capacity' override for instances where I need to take a large amount of tickets off sale, like if I have a large phone order for a school trip.

    • I can also combine ticket pricing and capacity updates, which might be useful for increasing prices and capacity over a Bank Holiday weekend.

  • Once your Override has been created, navigate back to the 'Occurrences' tab and use the filters to narrow down the list of occurrences to ones that are relevant.

  • Once you've finalised your selection, select 'Set override' from the 'Actions' dropdown menu on the right.

  • Repeat this process with each Override until you're happy with your adjustments.

  • You can also create new occurrences with an Override applied.

💡 Things to note

  • Each occurrence can have a maximum of one Override applied to it.

    • You shouldn't need more than once, since you can adjust the price and capacity within one Override.
