Referral tags allow you to track where your sales come from to better understand how your marketing is performing. You can create tags for your different marketing channels including Facebook, Twitter, or your own website, and see which are driving the most sales. You can also give your ticket reps and affiliates their own unique links and reward them based on how well they sell.

How to create referral and affiliate links

  • From the Promote section of your dashboard, choose Links and referrals from the side menu.

  • Under the Event link heading, click the Edit link settings button.

  • From the Event drop-down menu, choose an individual event or select All events to have your referral tag link to your box office.

  • In the Referral tag text box, enter any unique series of letters and numbers. Click the Update button and copy the generated web link. This link be used anywhere you market your tickets in order to track how buyers arrived at your event or box office.

  • You can also create buttons to embed on your website. Simply copy and paste the code next to the button you want to use under the HTML Buttons heading.

How to track referral links

  • You can track referral sales from the Event summary page. From the Events section of your dashboard, find the event and look under the Referral sales summary heading.

    • If you're running a recurring event, you need to select a specific occurrence from the Event summary page first. You'll then find the Referral sales summary heading by scrolling down.

Screenshot showing the 'Event summary' page, with an arrow pointing to a specific event occurrence. Once clicked, you can access the 'Referral sales summary' as described above.
  • The referral code will also show on individual orders in your Orders tab, and on order exports.

💡 Things to note

  • Once a referral tag has been created, it can't be removed.

  • Any paid affiliates using the code you provide will not be paid automatically. This will have to be done separately.

  • If you're comfortable creating referral links, you don't need to add them using the steps above - any referral link you share will be tracked if sales are made with it.
