Why wasn’t my scheduled event published?

If a scheduled publish can’t go ahead, your event stays a draft and we email you the reason we can't publish it, and what you need to change.

We check your event is ready to publish when you schedule it.

Occasionally something still stops it going live at the scheduled time, for example, if you forgot to add an essential setting when creating your event.

When that happens, your event stays a Draft and we email you straight away. Look out for an email titled: “Your event wasn’t published”. It tells you the reason your event can't go live, and links to your event so you can fix it in a jiffy!

What to do if your event wasn’t published

  • Open the email and follow the link to edit your event.

  • Fix the issue listed in the email.

  • Head to Events, then either publish your event immediately, or choose Schedule publish again to pick a new time.

Some common reasons an event might fail a scheduled publish

  • No ticket types are added to the event. Add at least one ticket.

  • The event date is in the past. If an event, usually a recurring one, has no future dates available, you'll need change the date or add a future occurrence.

  • No payment method is linked to the event. Connect a payment method in account settings, and make sure it's linked to your event.

  • No billing details for your box office. Add your billing details.

  • If you're using Square: currency mismatch. The event's currency doesn't match the Square location. Pick the right Square location, then re-assign it to the event.
