If you've issued a refund voucher for the full amount of a ticket or order, but meant to issue a refund for less, you can put it right. This is useful if you've forgotten to retain your booking fees or tax, for example.
Refund vouchers can't be edited directly once they're issued, but you can swap the voucher for a corrected one in a few steps.
The idea is simple: you use the original voucher to buy a placeholder ticket, then refund that order back to a new voucher, this time for a partial refund amount.
How to edit a refund voucher:
Create a new event with a new ticket type called "Refund adjustment".
Set the price to the original order value, so that at checkout, the total matches the voucher amount, including fees and taxes.
Hide this ticket, so your buyers can't purchase it.
Create a new order for the customer who is due a refund. Add the "Refund adjustment" ticket to their order, then apply their existing voucher code to pay for it.
Refund the order you just created to a new voucher. When you issue the refund, adjust the amount to the refund you want to give. The buyer will get a new voucher for the correct amount.
💡 You might want to add a note to your orders, so the adjustment is easy to spot when you look back at your reports.
