How do I change the status of my event?

Change your event status between 'Draft', 'Published', and 'Sales closed', from the 'Events' page, or within your 'Event summary' page.

If you need to switch your event back into draft or close sales for your event, it's really simple to do.

You can change your event's status in two ways: from your Events page, or from the Event summary page.

How to change the status of your event

Option 1: From your Events list

  • From your Ticket Tailor dashboard, head to Events.

  • Find the event you want to update.

  • Select the Status drop-down next to the event.

  • Choose your status: Draft or Sales closed.

Option 2: From your Event summary page

  • From your Ticket Tailor dashboard, head to Events.

  • Click on the event you want to update.

  • Select the drop-down next to the event name at the top of the page.

  • Choose your status: Draft or Sales closed.

How to add a customer notice when your event sales are closed

When you set your event to Sales closed, we'll ask how you'd like it to appear to your ticket buyers. Choose from:

  • Sold out

  • Unavailable

  • Pay on door

  • Set custom status, so you can write your own message

You can also add a customer notice: a message shown to ticket buyers when they visit your event page. It's a handy way to explain why sales have closed, or to share alternative contact details or next steps.

There's a dropdown for an 'Event status' - 'Sold out' has been selected in the example. Underneath is a 'Customer notice' empty textbox, where you can add a custom message when sales are closed.

💡 Things to note

  • For events with multiple occurrences, changing the event status applies to all occurrences of your event series.

  • You can manage individual event dates by heading to Occurrences in the left-hand menu of your Event summary page.
