Klarna is a payment product that allows ticket buyers to pay in several ways depending on their needs, including "buy now, pay later".

To pay with Klarna, customers are redirected to Klarna’s site, where they select their preferred payment option, and then return to your event page to complete their order.

Klarna presents payment options based on the customer’s billing address and transaction amount. After payment acceptance, the full amount of the order (minus fees) is made available to your Stripe account up front. Klarna collects the purchase amount from your customer, including any future instalment payments, if applicable.

💡 Due to their own terms and conditions, Klarna may not be available for your box office if you are a charity or political organisation. Please check the full terms and conditions in your Stripe account.

How to set up Klarna

  • Make sure you have a Stripe account set up that's connected to Ticket Tailor. Learn how to do that here.

  • Once that's done, enable Klarna in your Stripe account.

  • In Ticket Tailor, go to 'Box office settings' and navigate to 'Payment systems'.

  • Click on the three-dot menu next to your Stripe account details, and choose 'Settings'. A popup should appear.

  • Tick the box that says "klarna..." and click 'Save'.

    • If correctly enabled in Stripe, Klarna should appear in the list of "capabilities" in your Stripe account. If you don't see it, please contact Stripe to troubleshoot why it's not appearing.

  • That's it! Klarna is now available for your ticket buyers on all of your events using Stripe.


💡 Things to note

  • Klarna payments might incur different fees than other types of payments taken via Stripe. Check your Stripe account for up-to-date fee information.

  • Klarna payments are only available when your customer is based in the same country as you.

  • Klarna decides the payment options shown to your customer. Depending on the customer’s billing country and the transaction amount, Klarna can present customers with various payment options. Your customers will see the payment options based on their location when they select the product/service.
