If you're running events at a permanent venue, you might have a front desk or gift shop where people can buy tickets on arrival. Although we don't integrate directly with Square hardware just yet, these instructions show you how you can take a manual payment and add an order for your customer.

How to sell tickets using a Square card reader

  1. Make sure you have Square and Ticket Tailor open on your laptop or phone.

  2. Take a manual payment for the ticket using your Square hardware.

  3. Head to your 'Orders' page in Ticket Tailor.

  4. Select the button marked 'Add new order'.

  5. Complete the checkout process on behalf of your attendee. (You can fill out as many or as few of the checkout form fields as you need to, or click 'Skip to payment' if you don't need any ticket buyer details).

  6. Select 'Operator payment'.

  7. Here you can add a Square transaction ID if you wish, but otherwise, click the green 'Complete this order' button to add the order to your event.

  8. You’ll then be shown the final ticket information (and a confirmation email will be sent to your customer's email address if you entered it on the checkout form).

  4. Select your Square payments at checkout, and type in your customer's card details.

  5. You’ll then be shown the final ticket information (and a confirmation email will be sent to your customer's email address if you entered it on the checkout form).
