If you're organising a free event (or using offline payments) and would like to discourage bots from making bookings, you can add a CAPTCHA challenge to your event checkout.

The CAPTCHA adds a verification step that ensures you have a human customer selecting tickets.

To enable CAPTCHA on your event

  • Navigate to your 'Box office settings’ tab from the top right of your dashboard.

  • Under ‘Basic settings’, select the checkbox marked ‘Always show a CAPTCHA challenge when payment details aren't required’.

  • Click the ‘Save’ button at the bottom of the page.

💡 Things to note

  • Even if this checkbox isn't selected, the CAPTCHA may sometimes show automatically to customers booking tickets to free events, as an added Ticket Tailor security measure.
