When you ask your ticket buyers questions at checkout, it’s often helpful to use their answers in your order confirmation emails and on their invoices. For example, you might want to include their company name on their order or add their VAT number to their invoice.
💡 This feature only works with order confirmation templates released after 15th June 2023. If you created your box office before then and would like to use this feature, please contact customer support to enable this on your account.
How to use answers to buyer questions as placeholders in order confirmations and invoices
Create your checkout form and add your custom 'buyer' questions.
Click on the pencil icon to edit your custom 'buyer' question. This will open a pop-out.
From the web address (URL) at the top of your page, copy the last numbers after the forward slash.
For example, if my URL is:
https://app.tickettailor.com/event/es_1474910/edit-checkout-form#dpop=/event/es_1474910/custom-form/edit-custom-field/410586/1077711
Then the number I will copy is:
1077711
Save the number somewhere.
Head to edit your invoice, or to edit your order confirmation.
To add your customer answer to your email or invoice, copy this code and add your number from the previous step to the end of it:

For example, to use my customer details from the URL above, my event confirmation would look something like this:

💡 Things to note
Only answers to buyer questions can be added to your emails and invoices. Answers to attendee questions can't be added to invoices or order confirmations.
You can't add these details to event confirmations.
You can only add custom questions as placeholders. 'First name | Last name', 'Email' and 'Mobile Phone Number' are fixed questions, and can't be added using this method.
If a question is deleted, or your buyer doesn't answer it, the custom field will just be blank on your order confirmation or invoice.
